Lamer Douglas Martin

Lamer Douglas Martin, 76, of Pearisburg, departed this life Saturday morning, April 17, 2010 at Riverview Nursing Home in Rich Creek after a long illness. Born in Pembroke on January 27, 1934, he was a son of the late Ray Martin and Eva Nelson Martin Boles. He was retired from the Celanese Celco Plant at Narrows, and was a veteran of the United States Army. Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, Alberta Pyles Martin, his daughter, Tracy Diane Rice, his brothers, Frank, Pete, and Clinton Martin. He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Stanley D. and wife Karen Martin of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Jamie A. Martin of Pembroke; his grandchildren, Matthew, Brandon, Hayley, and Ryne Martin and Scarlet Virginia Link, and Travis Rice; his sisters, Mable Sinkus of Ohio, Eula Peters of Maryland, Kay Blevins of N.C., Carole Atkins of N.C., Frances Langley of Md., and Ola Perdue of Dublin. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
