Lola Goad Hopcroft

March 9, 1936 – May 18, 2010 In loving memory of the mother, grandmother, and sister who was always helping someone else. Lola was born in Botetourt County to Dennie E. and Annie Mae (Grubbs) Goad. She is survived by her siblings, William (Joyce), David (Joyce), Mary Wyrick, Warren (Nancy), Arthur (Carol), Wayne, Doris Walker (Hurley), Roger (Margaret), Steve (Treedy), and Joyce Ann Goldston (Bill). As a young woman, Lola worked for the telephone company. In later years she counted miles on her pedometer as a salesperson with Grand Home Furnishings and the Room Store. Throughout her life, Lola was a caregiver for young, elderly, family, and friends, accepting nothing in return. Her independent spirit and loving heart will be missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Tara and Tom Frazier; and the grandchildren who knew her too briefly, Joseph and Anna. Lola passed away in her sleep this week. The family will gather for a private memorial at the graveyard. In lieu of flowers, please help a neighbor in need.
