Hi Aunt Peggy,
It's been such a long time since I last saw you, but I'll never forget it. It was my dad's funeral in 1995. I remember during the wake being near the coffin and suddenly feeling overwhelmed by the whole situation. You saw me, and you realized I needed to get out of there, so you called me over to go with you to talk to the funeral home director about the next day's arrangements. It may have seemed like a small gesture to anyone watching, but it was perfectly in keeping with your habit of looking out for those you loved. Thank you for that.

I wish I could have been at your wake and the funeral, but please know that many prayers were sent out from Florida and continue to be sent out for you, Uncle E.C, Dan, and Marianne.

We're going to miss you, but try not to worry too much about us down here. Leave that to God ;) Just take in that splendor and indescribable joy to which those of us still here on earth aspire. Say hi to dad, grandma, and grandpa for me. God bless!

EC, it will forever be etched in my mind the watching Peggy with the children on Palm Sunday. She was smiling and so happy working with them, showing them how to wave the palm branches. God definitely has another angel, but we will miss having her here with us. We are praying for you and your family.

EC and family, you are in our thoughts and prayers during this sad and difficult time. May you be comforted in knowing others care and love you. We will treasure the memories of the Brookville High School Class of 1953 fiftieth reunion, and Peggy's humor with hilarious "interruptions" that she made during EC's "speech" that night. May many happy remembrances such as this, bring smiles and laughter for many years to come.
God bless!

Peggy was my "Little Sister" at Madison College so it was like greeting family when I saw her sometimes at Roanoke teacher's meetings and later as a member of the George Pearis DAR. When she moved to Moneta, we missed her enthusiastic help in all our activities.

Aunt Peggy and Uncle EC were a big part in our wedding he performed the ceromony and she helped make sure everyone got where they needed to go. She was always willing to serve food, herd kids, or pitch in with whatever needed to be done. I will miss seeing her at family functions, baby showers, and bridal showers I didn't get to see her very often but she was still a big part of our lives. We will miss you Aunt Peggy and we will see you when we get there.

I am very sorry for your loss and I want to let you know your mother/grandmother/wife/sister didn't suffer. Myself and my girlfriend stopped when we seen her cross the line and stayed with her until ems got there we comforted her and talk to her until she passed. I didn't know her but from the entries she sounds to be an astounding woman. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family.

"Peggy" and I were friends. She and I marched together to get our doctorate at the University of Virginia. "Sister Poets" we were. She and I worked together and shared stories while embracing a few projects. It was heartbreaking to hear of her horrible incident. I remember how much she loved horses. I would like to attend her services; however, I am the main caregiver for my mom and brother here at home in Axton, Virginia and the journey there would possibly be too taxing on my present state of sleep-depravation.

You all are in my thougths. I will miss my friend and sister poet. Blessings to all of you.

Mrs. Redmond was a wonderful teacher. She helped my son get thru high school English. If it had not been for her he would not have made it. She was such a sweatheart and will be missed. God has a true angel with him.
