Marguerita DeMarco Obituary

Marguerita E. (Betty) DeMarco, 88, formerly of Charleston, W.Va., passed away on April 20, 2010, at The Court of Roanoke after an extended illness. Betty had been residing with her daughter for the past nine years. She was the daughter of Bertha and Raymond Minotti, of Charleston, W.Va. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas J. DeMarco. Betty is survived by her son, Nicholas "Corky" DeMarco and wife, Catherine, of Pinch, W.Va.; and daughter, Catherine and husband, W.H. "Wib" Wood, of Roanoke, Va. She was blessed with three grandchildren, Matthew DeMarco, of Silver Spring, Md., Joseph DeMarco and wife, Katie, of Monrovia, Liberia, and Marsha (Wood) Canfield and husband, Matthew, of Ashburn, Va.; and a great-grandson, Aiden Canfield. A Mass dedicated to Betty's life will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2010, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Charleston, W.Va., and a private burial will be held at Spring Hill Cemetery, Charleston, W.Va. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a contribution in Betty's name be made to Good Samaritan Hospice or to The Court of Roanoke. A Memorial Service and reception will be held at a later date for the employees and staff of The Court of Roanoke. Arrangements by Oakey's South Chapel, 540-989-3131.

We are missing Betty. In that tiny body of hers was a woman that was full of character. She would look at me and smile or make a funny face. It often made my day when I was visiting our mom. Such a dear person. The Moses family.
