Aunt Sara, Donna, Tim & Families,
We were saddened to hear about the death of Uncle Marvin. He was a pleasure to be with and we always looked forward to his trips to Rowan county....He delighted us with his stories about the railroad and days gone by....He will surely be missed but we have many precious memories to last a lifetime..
You will remain in our thoughts and prayers...

It has been a long time since I have seen Marvin, my cousin. Had good conversation at one of the "get togethers" at Aunt Mae's and Mildred's home. He was such a sweet spirit, soft spoken and much to share with his distant cousins!!

I am sorry for the loss of your loved one and will pray for your healing and peace. We all have lots of memories of Marvin though out the years.
This is from my brother Greg Hill in Virginia Beach... Please convey condolences to the family. I haven't seen him since he went with me to buy Converse high top tennis shoes when I was visiting one summer many years ago.I think I was in the 5th or 6th grade. He is 45 now so the that would have been long ago.

I send you love and tears from the Upright family. What a special uncle we had in Uncle Marvin. His smile will remain as one of my fondest memories of him. We will not be able to make the trip to Roanoke but hope to see you on the 26th. Love to all of Marvin's family, Shelia

I don't know that I ever met Marvin, but I feel as if I know him through his sister Mildred. Earlier this year, I finished my book on the Henry Corriher Family here in Rowan County, NC. Mildred was one of my primary sources of information and she spoke so highly of her brother Marvin. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
