Mary Dillon Obituary

Mary S. Dillon, 83, of Rocky Mount, entered the Kingdom of God on Saturday, May 29, 2010. She was born in Franklin County on February 28, 1927, a daughter of the late Jacob and Vinnie Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Chapman Dillon; two sisters; three brothers; and a great-grandson. Surviving are her sons, Chapman Dillon, Jr., Hurricane, West Virginia and Ricky Dillon, Wirtz; daughters, Dianne Morgan (Don), Belleair, Florida and Sandra Greenwood (Bill), Copper Hill; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Allen Smith, Salem, Daniel Smith, Bradenton, Florida; four sisters-in-law; numerous nieces; nephews; other family members and friends. The family greatly appreciates the loving care given by Good Samaritan Hospice/Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted from Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2010 with the Rev. Joseph Ashby officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at ConnerBowman Funeral Home and Crematory, 220North @ Wirtz Road. www.connerbowman .com, 334-5151.

Sandra, Bill,and family I am so sorry for your loss. Mary was a sweet lady and as far as i known she had a smile for everyone .She will be missed very much.Sandra you know my love and prayers will always be with you .I know god will comfort you and your family and give you and Bill peace.And Diann,Chatman and Ricky you all have my prayers and love too .And may God be with you always. I am so sorry for this world's loss. She was a wonderful loving mother-in-law to me. She was my friend and I will miss her dearly. Her suffering has ended and heaven has welcomed a lovely angel. Diane, Chappy, Sandra and Ricky I pray for your hearts to be comforted in this difficult time.
