I knew Melvin since 1976 when he became my boss after joining Halmode Apparel. He was great to work with and taught me a great deal about sewing machines and manufacturing in general. His patience and knowledge was vast and inspiring. I along with many others will always hold his memory in the highest regard. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Melvin was a man of few words but always expressed how he felt. His heart was so big and his home was always open to whoever needed a place to rest. He was always working on something; whether it was one of the vehicles he was fixing or cleaning or something around the house; Melvin was always busy. I still use an old White sewing machine he rebuilt for me that runs great and I will always cherish. Melvin will be deeply missed by those who knew and cared for him. Please know the wonderful memories we shared with Melvin will always be present in mine and the children’s hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time of sorrow.
Like a bird singing in the rain, let grateful memories survive in time of sorrow.

Melvin was a good man with a big heart. Melvin was there when you needed him. Melvin tought me how to drive and took me for my driving test. He was well known and thought highly of by his friends and family. Melvin was a good handy man. He loved to work on his own car and other things. He kept things under the hood of the car very clean! Very smart with little education. Melvin loved his family very much and did what he could to help out. He was a wise man with very little educaton. Melvin will be missed dearly . Melvin will always be cherished. He was one of a kind. My prayers are with the family.
