Mildred Bednarek Obituary

Mildred Bednarek, 81, of Rome, Wis., passed away quietly surrounded by her loving family, and joined her beloved husband, Gordon, on Friday, August 28, 2009. She leaves behind her only son, Michael and his wife, Kathleen, of Blue Ridge, Va.; her devoted brother, Kenneth Eike, of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.; grandchildren, Cary and Jennifer Bednarek, Jamie and April Bednarek, all of Roanoke, Va., Alysia and Tradd Crawford, of Summerville, S.C.; two greatgrandchildren, Madison and Fletcher Crawford; two sisters-in-law; and other family and friends. Mildred was born on March 3, 1928, in Brooklyn, N.Y. to the late Martin and Anna Ericksen. She married Gordon Bednarek in Milwaukee, Wis., retired from American Motors and lived her remaining years with Gordon in their home on Lake Camelot, Wis. She will be missed by all. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, August 31, 2009, at Oakey's East Chapel with Chaplain Kathy Hull officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Oakey's East Chapel and Crematory, 977-3909.
