Dear family of Roy Bob, I don’t know that you’ll ever receive this message but would like for you to know how much fun we had as children in Buchanan. It was a wonderfully free and joyous time! Roy Bob was truly my first love and I always knew he would go on to be a wonderful husband, community, and friend. My best to you all, Mary (Monaghan) Amann

When my husband passed away last year I knew he would soon be trading money on the golf course with Roy. They were best friends in life and I know they are in internal life.

Remembering the good times watching the two of you dancing at parties, walking together in the halls of James River High, watching him shoot baskets for the team, and your exchanging vows at your wedding. Although I didn't know him as a "grown-up," that will make him stay young in my memories. You are always in my prayers.

Jacque, Don and I are so sad to hear of Roy's passing. We cherish your friendship and so many memories. Our fun, crazy times at VT. Recently, I bought little hamburger buns for our grandchildren. Thought about Roy, how he teased me about how many hamburgers I could get out of a pound of hamburger? So glad we got to spend time with you and Roy in 2007. God bless you. We will be in touch. Much love to you. Don & Jeanette McCreary, Marietta, GA

Jacque,
You are in our prayers daily and Roy in our memories for a lifetime. We are forever grateful to Roy for being significantly instrumental in relocating us from VA to the Triad in 2000. We will never forget the "house-hunting" trips with you as well as the seemingly, endless supply of jokes that Roy would entertain us with!
We are grateful for having the opportunity to know Roy and you and count you as friends.
Love,
Rob, Melissa, Chase & Jordan Sperka

Jacque,
You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. All those who knew and worked with Roy will surely miss him, but the joyful memories and all of the humor he past on will be cherish for years to come. I still carry in my computer bag jokes he sent me ( I enjoy going back and remembering the good times and laughs). While in Orlando last week we were talking with a couple, Joe and Sandra Davison - who we bumped into at the hotel and found the common interest about the joy of knowing Roy and you. There are so many people around the world that will remember Roy so fondly.
Love you,

Dearest Jacque, the memories flood back like it was yesterday. Roy Bob (never just Roy to me) will always be remembered with great fondness. As a child and teen I spent many wonderful days with the Hill Brothers laughing and playing games. As a family we enjoyed several adventures to Myrtle Beach together. I know Roy Bob was your soul mate and for 45 years you have been blessed to be with the love of your life. As the obituary so eloquently states, he's now free to do all the things his illness prevented. You and the family are in my prayers. My deepest condolences. Much Love. Kay (Eubank Hall)

Jacque,
I was saddened when I received the news about Roy from Art. I have some vivid memories of that Merlefest weekend several (10?) years ago, when we met, listened to a lot of music, and of my inept fishing experience in your pond--things I will never forget.
As a very amateur rock hound, I was fascinated by Roy's extensive collections and his unique brand of humor. My deepest sympathy for your loss. A wonderful man and one-of-a-kind.
