Sarah Catherine Snyder Hastings

In the early morning hours of Monday, May 3, 2010, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen (Kitty) and Gary Ruby our mother, Sarah Catherine Snyder Hastings, took wings and flew home to be with family members who died before her. She was the last survivor born to Charles Simon and Sarah Catherine Ross Snyder and widow of Harold Norman Hastings. Surviving her are four children, Patricia Jane Hastings, of Donegal, Pa., Robert Allen (Virginia) Hastings, of Upland, Calif., John Charles (Joan) Hastings, of Donegal, Pa., and Kathleen (Gary) Ruby, of Rocky Mount; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brothersin-law and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; and many friends and neighbors. The family would especially like to thank the staffs of CFMH and Carilion Hospice of Franklin County for their special care.
