Ronald Locklear
PEMBROKE — Dr. Ronald C. "Ronnie" Locklear, 61, of Lloyd Lane, died July 16, 2015. He was born Feb. 19, 1954, to the late Doris Thompson Locklear and the late Carmel Locklear.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepmother, Renyce Locklear.
Dr. Locklear is survived by his wife of 40 years, Marion Lloyd Locklear. He is also survived by his children, Tomasina Miller (Kevin) of Aiken, South Carolina; Don C. Locklear, of Lake Charles, Louisiana; and Breanna Taylor Locklear, of Providence, Rhode Island; two granddaughters, Laci and Morgan Breen, of Burlington; four brothers, Mark T. Locklear (Patsy) of Prospect; Jason Locklear (Amanda) of Fayetteville; Carmel Juston Locklear (Mary) of New Bern; and Lofty McMillian (Cherrie) of Prospect; and a sister, Nancy Elk (Delray) of Anoka, Minnesota.
He is also survived by his business partner of 23 years, Billy Isgett and a host of family and friends.
A memorial will be held 7 p.m. today at Pembroke First Baptist Church, 302 Union Chapel Road, Pembroke.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at Pembroke First Baptist.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to a charity of one's choice.

I just learned of Ronnie's passing today, 8/19/15. He was a good man and friend; we worked together many years ago and he was one of the most knowledgeable Optometrists I ever knew. God Bless him and his family.

Ronnie was a wonderful, quiet, gentle, knowledgeable and a dear friend to all. We were high school classmates and Ronnie was always smiling and willing to help anyone who needed and accepted his gift. My heart is burdened for the family but Ronnie is rejoicing.

I was so shocked to hear about the passing of my eye doctor as I was trying to make an eye appointment today. My heart is very heavy. May God continues to streghten his family, clients,friends and staff as we all struggle to get through this time of sorrow and pain. God has called another angel into his kingdom.Rest in peace Dr.Locklear!

Doc was a one of a kind, gentle soul. He was so sweet, kind, smart, and a true friend. He loved God and his family. He will be greatly missed by so many. He will live on in our hearts. Such great memories. My husband and son adored him. We are heartbroken but we know that he is rejoicing in heaven. What a glorious day for him! We are praying for his sweet family.
