Kathleen Blondell Bullard Perritte, age 74, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, December 09, 2012. Born in Laurinburg NC on February 21, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Duncan Melvin Gibson and Naomi Butler Gibson. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sheryl Bullard Davis.
Being part of the textile industry, Kathleen Blondell moved around in several manufacturing towns but in her later years she resided in Laurel Hill, NC and Hamlet, NC where she worked at the local Piggly Wiggly. Kathleen Blondell recently relocated to Rocky Mount to be near her children and grandchildren. Although new to the area, Kathleen Blondell had developed many close friendships at Brekenridge Retirement Center.
She leaves behind two sons, Michael Duncan Bullard and wife Sherry of Rocky Mount and Dale Mitchell Bullard and wife Nancy of Macclesfield; granddaughter, Jessica Bullard Watson and husband Dane of Tarboro; grandson, Nicholas Dale Bullard of Macclesfield; special cousin, Jimmy Larkins and wife Ann of Laurel Hill; sister, Diane Gibson Goodyear of Greer SC; two nephews; and son-in-law, Kelly Davis.
The family will receive friends and relatives 7:00pm to 8:30pm Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home in Rocky Mount. A service to remember Kathleen Blondell will be held at 3:30pm Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Peeles Wesleyan Chapel Church, 20781 McEachin Road, Laurel Hill NC with J.W. Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Wright Cemetery in Laurel Hill.
