Amber Ellis Obituary

Amber Ellis
4/4/1913 - 9/10/2010

Amber Olivia Strang Ellis passed away on September 10, 2010 in Fair Oaks, California at age 97. She was born on April 4, 1913 in Oroville, Calif.
After graduating from Oroville High School, Amber was able to attend college because she bought the winning raffle ticket. The raffle prize was a 1932 Plymouth Coupe which she sold and used the money to attend San Jose State University.
While at college she fell in love with her roommate's brother, Page Ellis. They married in August 1934, and were joined by their son Bruce in 1944. They lived in Sacramento, Carmichael and Auburn before the family settled in Roseville in 1956. Amber became very involved in her community. She was the PTA President at Atlantic Street School, Cub Scout Den Mother, member of the American Rose Society and Al-Anon. She loved the theater and was in several community plays, as well as playing a Halloween witch for children at Roseville Hospital. She was also on TV in car commercials. Amber enjoyed traveling, and sharing time with family, friends, and pets.
She is survived by her son, Bruce, daughter-in-law, Irene, grandchildren Mark, Rob, and Brian, great-grandchildren Shea, Turner, Calvin, and Alexandra and nieces and nephews in California and Arizona.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Eskaton Fair Oaks and Villa Del Rey of Lincoln for all the love and care they gave to Amber.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection 6365 Douglas Blvd. Granite Bay, CA.
