Grace Shreve Obituary

Grace Eldrice Shreve passed away quietly November 14, 2010 at Auburn Sutter Faith Hospital. She was 88.
Born February 5, 1922 in Adolph, West Va. to Wade Hampton and Margaret McCollam Shannon she married her childhood sweetheart Montgomery Shreve in 1943. They traveled the world under the auspices of the U.S. Navy.
Mrs. Shreve retired as a housekeeping supervision from El Camino Hospital in Mt. View Calif. and moved to Auburn to be close to family and friends. The great joys of her life were cooking, gardening, family and her dog Frosty.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Ann and William Hendricks, grandson Jesse Hendricks and granddaughter Dylan Hendricks and her partner Steven McFarlane, and her dear neighbors Sharon, Brent and Graham Smith.
At her request, no services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to any Hospice, Habitat for Humanity of Red Cross chapter.

We were lucky to have had Grace cross our families path so many years ago. She was a wonderful friend to so many there was no one kinder in this world than Grace. She is missed dearly by so many. Her memory will live on in our hearts. paulene

24 years ago a sweet retired lady moved in next door. We became instant friends and not too much later we became family. Even our dogs loved Grace! We'll cherish wonderful memories of our times together: from celebrating holidays and birthdays to sitting on the front porch gossiping. She's the only person I know that spent a great deal of money on dirt! Her beloved garden was a true joy for her and for the neighborhood that admired it.
