Helen Elizabeth Girard, of Lincoln, passed away on January 9, 2011. Helen was born in Marion, Illinois in 1928. She worked for Safeway in Canyon Country for over 26 years. Helen enjoyed traveling, playing Bingo, and spending time with family and friends. She volunteered for many years at the Auburn Senior Center and was a member of the Emblem Club.
Helen is survived by her children Mike Ledbetter, Matt Ledbetter, Becky Haefliger, Erin Seem, and Tricia Girard; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Helen was very generous and always there to help those in need. She was loved and admired by all who knew her. She will be missed.
Services will be held Thursday, January 13 at 2 p.m. at Newcastle Cemetery, 850 Taylor Road. Reception to follow at her son Mike's house.

Our sincere sympathy in the loss of your mother. Jim worked with Helen for many years and was a very good friend of Pat. We had lost touch with her in the last few years as our Christmas card was returned several years ago. We are so sorry to hear of her passing.
