Born March 8, 1922 in Yuma, Ariz. Passed away peacefully September 13, 2010 in Roseville, Calif.
Preceded in death by daughter Sylvia Cervantes, parents Roman and Refugia, eight brothers and three sisters. Survived by sons John, Andrew, and Albert (Sandra), all of Roseville; daughters Yvonne Cross (Clarence) of Roseville and Avon McCormick (Robert) of Kolossi, Cyprus; son-in-law Frank Cervantes of Roseville; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and former wife Mary Quijada Estrada of Roseville. He is also survived by brothers Rey (June), Alex (Eva), Roman (Angela), and Gilbert (Pat); sisters Virginia Murrietta, Julie LeRoy (Eugene), Mary Helen Storm-Larsen (Ragnor), Mary Ann Proctor (Larry), and Socorro Magdaleno; and numerous nephews and nieces.
John served in the U.S. Army as a First Scout with the 38th Cyclone Division during World War II and fought in the Philippine Islands. John and Mary moved to Roseville in 1954 because of a job transfer with Southern Pacific Railroad and retired as an electrician in 1983 after 42 years of service.
