Margot Grappasonno Obituary

Margot was born in Silesia, Germany in 1938. She was the 4th child of George and Martha Kintscher. Her father was a coal miner and her mother worked for a local farmer. She survived World War II, poverty, and the German Expulsion and moved to San Francisco in 1960 to work as a housekeeper and nanny. She met her husband Antonio at El Patio Ballroom in 1964. They married in 1965 and went on to have two children, Diana and Marco. Margot helped Tony run a small but successful business while they raised their children in Burlingame, Calif. Margot was a devoted wife and a selfless mother who lovingly prepared thousands of amazing meals for her family. In 1999, Margot and Tony moved to Auburn, Calif., to retire and enjoy their golden years together.
Margot passed away peacefully at sunrise on the morning of Sunday, September 26, 2010 after a three year battle with her health. She was a fighter to the very end. She will be deeply missed by her husband Antonio, her daughter Diana, her son Marco, her daughter-in-law Jennifer, and her son-in-law Marc, her sisters Anni and Trautel, her niece Monika as well as by her many other family members and friends.
Preparations are being handled by Lassila Funeral Chapel in Auburn, Calif. A memorial will be held at the family home at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2010.
We are very grateful to the staff of DaVita Dialysis and to all of the doctors and nurses who provided Margot with such excellent care over the past several years.
