Marie Douglas Obituary

Marie Susan Trezza Douglas
5/14/1931 - 11/12/2010

Marie Susan Douglas passed Friday November 12, 2010. Marie was born May 14, 1931 in Pittsburg, Calif., and lived in Martinez until 1970. She moved to Marin County, worked as a realtor and lived in Bel Marin Keys for 30 years. From 2003 to 2010 Marie lived in Lincoln, Calif., where she was active in the Italian Club, the Altar Society and Flower Committee at St. Joseph's Church and the Lazarus House: they generously prepare food for those whose loved ones have passed. She continued to work as a realtor for the next five years in the Lincoln area and then retired. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, her family and friends. Her specialties in cooking included chipino for Christmas, Nana's and her own cookies, homemade bread and pizza and anything you desired. In March of every year she prepared a St. Joseph's Table of lentil soup, salad, bread, cookies and lots of love. Friends and family from all over Calfiornia would attend and looked forward to each year. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Lincoln for the past seven years.
Marie was a warm and charitable mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her daughters and son, Karen A Voss of San Juan Capistrano, Calif., Denise M. Huff of Nevada City, Calif., and William J. Douglas of Loomis, Calif., survive her. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; Tiffany N. Voss, Bradley M. Voss, Gregory M. Huff, Anthony R. Huff, Lauren C. Widing Huff, Douglas J. Huff and Brandon N. Douglas; five great-grandchildren, Quinn Voss, Abbigail Voss, Hailey Voss, Elizabeth Huff, and Emily Huff.
A memorial will be hed at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 20, 2010 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lincoln, Calif., 280 Oak Tree Lane and followed by a reception at the Church Hall.

Marie and I were class mates at Alhambra High in Martinez. Maries husband Bill was also a class mate and I always thought that Bill was so luky to have captured the heart of this beautiful Italian girl. Marie and Bills son Bill became good friends and class mates with my son Louis.
We reconnected in these last few years mostly through emails and St. Josephs Parish and I am sorry that I did not get to see Marie before she passed but I have been praying for her for a long time. God Bless you Marie and may you Rest IN Peace.

Marie was such a fun loving person, I first met her when we were working on a committee for the Italian Club. I shall

aso her St. Joseph luncheons she had..
