Mike you were the best big brother a sister could ask for. I know that in your passing you are no longer in pain and you are with Dad and Mom so give them a hug for me. I will miss not being able to pick up the phone to call you as each time I did you made it seem like we spoke each day. I will miss your laughter..Love you (your younger) sis Deana

I just found out that my big brother has gone to be with our Lord. Your passing sadens me but I do know you are not hurting any longer. You will be missed even if we did not talk much when we did it was as if we had just spoken yesterday. You have left your mark on this world and those who had the pleasure of knowing you can understand that. You not be forgotten. Give Dad and Mom a hug from me. Love ya your (younger) Sis Deana

I just learned of the passing of my step brother Mike. We stayed in touch through the years and kept in touch after his Dad (Bud) and my Mother (Pauline) died. Mike was indeed bigger than life and one of the best golfers I had ever seen. He was loved by so many friends and family. I loved him too and I will miss him. Rest in peace Mike. Your Sis, Georgia

Like so many others have said, he was "larger than life". Knowing Mike in high school was great fun. He was a positve "can do" thinker, a natural athlete, entrepenuer and the very best joke teller. I was lucky that after almost 20 years he found me in Scottsdale, Az and for the next 3 years I met him when he and his "Spring Break Gang" came to town for a week of baseball and golf. He was always looking at the bright side of life. Still telling a joke every 3 minutes. My condolences to his family and friends. He will not be forgotten...

Mike has held a special place in my heart since we met in high school, and I've always considered him to be one of my best friends. I am so grateful that we had a chance to reconnect about five years ago when we were both in Arizona during Spring Training. What an unforgetable, fantastic guy! I will miss him dearly, especially during our "birthday week."

I met Mike and his brother Pat though their father, Papa Bud as we all called him that ever played softball under his leadership. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree as they say. Papa and his two son's where three of the best people I have ever met. Mike and I played golf together and I always enjoyed his company and jokes. The three of them treated me like a son and brother. Rest with God. Love ya brother. Chuck Kinsey (Citrus Heights, Ca.)

Mike was one of the most unforgettable people I've ever met. The only thing bigger than his frame was his heart. The greatest joke teller who ever lived, including professionls. You teased Mike only at your own peril. I once gave him a verbal jab after losing a poker hand to me. He handed me his cell phone and said, "Here, call someone you love and tell them goodbye!". He had a wonderful sense of humor, a contageous laugh and smile, and a tremendous zest for life. Truly one of a kind, the life of every gathering he attended.
He cast a giant shadow on all of his frends, a shadow, not reflecting his stature but his emense presense. He'll never be forgotten and will be missed forever. We love you Mike and we'll never forget you. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to the family, Linda and Chuck Davis

I have extremely fond memories of Mike.
I had the pleasure of working with both his son and daughter when they were students at RHS. Hunter was in my English class as a freshman and then spent three years in my journalism class. Heather also spent three years in the journalism program. Mike was very supportive of their studies – and appreciative of all of the teachers working with them.
In fact, one of the more poignant moments in my teaching career came while reading an autobiographical essay that Hunter wrote during his freshmen year. He described the day he learned that Mike was going to marry his mom – which was relayed during a ball game in San Francisco – as the greatest day of his life. I remember being especially touched with Hunter's sincerity and love he conveyed. Getting to know Mike over the next few years certainly validated Hunter's admiration.
The next year I participated in his Balls, Beers, and Bogies charity golf tournament. I had a great time at a great event and the next day Mike donated $2000 to the Roseville High School journalism program.
I will always remember Mike as a kind and generous man, and as a fantastic father.
