Norma Young Obituary

Norma Jean Young
6/8/1927 - 10/30/2010


Norma was born on June 8, 1927 in Boone, Iowa. She grew up in Boone and Davenport, Iowa, and Chicago, Illinois. She came to California in 1949 and worked for the Curry Company in Yosemite National Park where she met Frank Young. They married in 1950 and were together 53 years, until he passed away in 2003.
Norma passed away on October 30, 2010 in Sacramento, California, at the age of 83. She had lived with her daughter for the last two and a half years. Before that she made Auburn, California her home for over 43 years.
Her surviving family includes her children Sandra Young and Michael Young. She has four grandchildren: Sandra's son and daughter, Russell Young and Jennifer Azevedo and Michael's daughters, Nicole and Michaela Young. She also has three great-grandchildren, Jennifer's daughter, Riana, and sons, Caleb and Joshua. One brother, Frank Rhea, nieces, nephews and many other relations, also survive her and she had made many special friends over the years.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, November 4, 2010 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1279 High St., Auburn, CA at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at the New Auburn Cemetery.
