Virginia Healy passed away in Roseville, Calif., on September 27, 2010. She was 85 years of age. She was born in Oklahoma on August 6, 1925 to Roy and Eller Payne.
Virginia graduated form Roseville High school in 1943. She lived in Roseville since a very early age. She worked as a Nurse for Dr. Hal Kelly in Roseville. She loved gardening, swimming and water skiing. In her early years you could find her going across the lake on the shoulders of her first husband Ceasar. She touched the lives of everyone she met always with a smile and a hug. She would always take in a family member if they needed somewhere to stay.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years Ceasar Lewis who died in 1985. Ceasar Lewis owned and operated Lewis Welding works for 35 years. She was then lucky enough to meet Gordon Healy whom she was married for 12 years before he died in 2004. Gordon was a conductor for the Southern Pacific Railroad.
She was preceded in death by two sons Edward Lewis and Ronald Lewis. Virginia loved her family so much. She will be missed greatly by all those that she leaves behind. Her son Gary Lewis and wife Robin of Roseville; step-daughter Sharon Healy-Paul of Grass Valley. Grandchildren Gabriel Lewis and wife Cristina; Zakary; Todd; Ceasar and Madison all of Roseville. Great-granddaughter Lena Lewis. Siblings Phil Payne of Loomis; Roger Payne of Oregon and Norma Gibson of Lincoln and many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
She also leaves behind her best friend Ko Ko, her German Shorthair dog of nine years who she spent all her days with.
The family will have a Celebration of her life at the Healy residence on Sunday October 10, 2010 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to Cochranes Chapel of the Roses.
