Willard Pervier Obituary

Willard Scott "Bill" Pervier
11/4/1921 - 11/17/2010

Bill passed away peacefully with his daughter, Jan Muff at his side, and in the presence of The Holy Spirit to be with Jesus and live forever in the Glory of God.
Born in Chicago, to Willard and Blanche Pervier, he attended North Park College, and was a Navy Veteran of World War II. He met Evelyn Pylman, of Clarksburg, Calif., just before sailing for the South Pacific, where he fought on Saipan and constructed runways for the B29s. Bill and Evelyn wed after the war on September 2, 1946 and enjoyed 64 years of marriage.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Evelyn, brother Jim (Joyce) Pervier of South Carolina, son, Steve (Cheryl) of Austin, Texas., daughter Jan (Bruce) Muff of Auburn, Calif., and grandchildren Nancy (Elliot) Svensson of El Sobrante, Calif., Steve Muff and Eric Muff of Auburn, Calif. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. He also leaves numerous family and friends, many from the Auburn Ravine Terrace where he and Evelyn have lived for several years.
He worked as a junior clerk, and made his way up to management with Crown Zellerbach in Portland, Ore., and San Francisco, Calif. Bill was an avid fisherman, champion bowler and gardener specializing in orchids and roses. He loved to craft things out of leather and wood for both practical and fun uses, and became skilled at stained glass works. After retiring to Auburn he was active in The Elks Club, SIRs, Rooster Tails and the First Congregational Church.
As a child he charged neighborhood kids a nickel to hear his stories. Later he did magic tricks and made toys for children of family and friends. He and Evelyn hosted numerous dinner parties at their home, especially to watch fireworks on the 4th of July.
After moving to Auburn Ravine Terrace he enjoyed providing movies and popcorn for fellow residents. He had a lifelong passion for making life happier for others through entertainment.
Memorial donations may be made to the Auburn Ravine Terrace, Activities Department. c/o Linda Morris, 750 Auburn Ravine Road, Calif., 95603.
You are invited to a celebration of Bill's life on Saturday, November 27, at 3 p.m. at Auburn Ravine Terrace.
