MARCO A. CALACCI, 92 LOVING AND DEVOTED HUSBAND, FATHER AND GRANDFATHER ROCKFORD - Marco A. Calacci, 92, died at 8:47 a.m. Thursday, March 24, 2011, in SwedishAmerican Hospital, after a short illness. Born April 29, 1918, in Rockford, son of Harry and Ida (Pompo) Calacci. Married the former Edith Aaby on Aug. 3, 1940, in Dubuque, Iowa; she died Jan. 7, 2002. Employed as building engineer by Rockford Public School District for more than 30 years. Attended Zion Lutheran Church. He was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. He enjoyed country music and visited Branson, Mo., frequently. In addition, he liked to spend time on gambling boats. Marco was a hard worker who held multiple jobs to support his family. Survivors include daughter, Patti (Jerry) Lecklider of Roscoe; sons, Gary (Chris) Calacci of Newport Beach, Calif., Rod (Susan) Calacci and Mark (Sue) Calacci. both of Rockford, Rick (Kelly) Calacci of Long Grove and Scott (Wendy) Calacci of Rockton; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Bill (Stella) Calacci of Rockford; and sister, Nina Randall of Rockford. Predeceased also by granddaughter, Kelsey Calacci; brother, Eugene Calacci; and sister, Mary Willey. The family wishes to thank the staff of 8th floor at SwedishAmerican Hospital, Peak Professional Services, and staff of OSF Oncology. Special thanks to Dr. Ahmad, Dr. Sreen-ivasappa and Dr. Stocker for their care and concern. Private family service. Private burial in Arlington Memorial Park.
