WM. EARL PRICE, 90 ROCKFORD - Wm. Earl Price, 90, passed away at 9:15 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2011, from a stroke. Born May 31, 1921, in Nora, the son of William Lee and Ruby (Poland) Price. Graduated from Rockford High School. Married the former Jane Garman on Oct. 31, 1942, in Rockford. Retired from Woodward Governor after 44 years, most recently as service manager. Member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd and Rockford Moose Club. Earl enjoyed playing cards and was a Chicago White Sox fan. He was also an avid bowler and golfer, winning many trophies for each. His grandchildren were very important to him. Survivors include wife, Jane of Rockford; daughter, Marcia (Klaas) Schenkel of Holcomb; sons, Bill (Vicki) Price and Steven (Karen) Price, both of Rockford; grandchildren, David (Katy) Price, Alan Price, Amy Price and Bobby Price; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Mason and Reagan Price; brothers, Jim Price and Ralph Wilson; sisters, Margaret Altergott and Doris McCaw; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a sister; three brothers; and a half-sister. The family would like to thank the staff at Fairhaven for their care and compassion. Service at 11 a.m. Monday, June 6, in Sundberg Funeral Home Ltd., 215 N. Sixth St., with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time; the Rev. Eric Lemonholm will officiate.
