I worked with Al at Sundstrand in the Service Engineering department back in the 1980's. He was a great engineer, and it was a pleasure to see him when he came back in after retirement. He is greatly missed.

I started at Sundstrand during the same time period as your dad in 1980 and retired about the same time last year. We had many good discussions (not always agreeing), and I considered him a friend. There was an instance in 1990 when my 10 year old daughter was rushed to the hospital with an emergency tonsillectomy while I was on an extended business trip to England. My wife recalls Al coming through the elevator door at the hospital with a smile and a huge teddy bear for my daughter inquiring if there was anything he could do to help. He spoke often about you boys and was very proud of you. I consider it an honor to have known him.

Hi Everyone, especially "the boys": We remember your Dad and Mom when we began working with your Dad in Plant 2 in Rkfd in the 80s. He was so strong but hurting when your Mom was sick. His main concern was for you after she was gone. Inspite of everything, he was always there and we'll never forget his laugh. Mike travelled with him a lot during their on-site trips and your Dad made Mike's trips away from home much easier. Marie, we're so glad he had you in his life also. We met you very early when you were just "the turtle lady". Please remember the good times you all had with him and know our best thoughts and wishes are with you during this tough time.

Michael & Steven,
We have fond memories of first getting to know you and your parents while living in Miami and working for Sundstrand, 1978-82.

We later met all of you again, when you came to Sundstrad/ Rockford.

Your Dad was a gentleman and a fine engineer. We'll miss him.

Always remember the good times you have had with him.
