JOSEPHINE A. (LA MARCA) REILAND, 90 ROCKFORD - Josephine A. (La Marca) Reiland, 90, of Rockford passed away Monday, May 9, 2011, in River Bluff Nursing Home. Born Jan. 26, 1921, in Independence, La., to Baldassaro and Antonia (Gagliano) La Marca. She lived her younger years in Louisiana before moving to Rockford. She met her husband, James while he was a ticket agent for the Illinois Central Railroad and they were married June 17, 1944. James died Nov. 3, 2006. Survived by children, Mary A. Hilton, Linda (Dan) Olivotti and Debi (Ken) Giesler; grandchildren, James Erik Hilton, Garrett and Leah Olivotti, Michael and Morgan Giesler; brothers, Ernie (Fran) La Marca and Nick (Rosalie) La Marca; sisters-in-law, Nathalie Jurasek and Barbara Reiland; and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased also by her parents; siblings, Carl (June), Michael (Lena) and Pasquale La Marca, Ida (Charlie) Nuccio, Laura La Marca, and Louise (Frank) Rudolph. Our family would like to thank the staff at River Bluff Nursing Home and VNA Hospice. Their exceptional care was a blessing. Mass of the Resurrection at 11 a.m. Friday, May 13, in St. Bernadette's Catholic Church; the family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. The Rev. Kenneth Stachyra will officiate. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family. Tributes to the family at sunsetfhmemgardens.com.

Your mother and my "JoJo" was such an exceptional woman and a fighter. She will always have a special place in my heart. Taking care of her for this many years has been a blessing. My prayers are with you and your family while she watches down on all of you. Ashley at RMH :)
