I lived across the street from the Briers until I graduated high school in 1965. The Briers and my parents were good friends and neighbors and my mom fondly remembers Betty for her positive outlook and humor. She introduced me to southern style barbecue for the first time. She is definitely part of the warm memories of my youth.

My family moved next door to the Briers in 1962 and Betty and I became close friends. She was always happy and full of fun. After we moved away, I loved the phone calls and her letters were wonderful. She was a very smart woman. She will be missed by all who knew her, especially her family.

I was honored to know Betty for the last 15 or so years. Her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor were a delight. I will miss her deeply. Thoughts and prayers for the family who will miss her so much.
