Jean Flink Obituary

Jean R. Flink, 82 ROCKFORD - Jean R. Flink, 82, a lifelong resident of Rockford, passed away after a long illness Thursday, April 28, 2011, in St. Anne Center. Born July 16, 1928, in Rockford, the daughter of Gustaf A. and Hannah (Nystrom) Flink. She graduated from East High School in 1946 and was employed as a secretary at Amerock Corp. for 44 years, retiring in 1990. Jean is survived by brother, Roy G. (Lillian) Flink of Rockford; niece, Susan (Al) Cowan of Roscoe; grand-niece and -nephews, Sarah (Doug) Helland of Ann Arbor, Mich., John (Marty) Cowan of Fulton, Md., and Andrew Montalbano of Velva, N.D.; great-grandnieces and -nephews, Alexandria and Samuel Montalbano, Grace Helland, Clayton and Graham Cowan; and special friends Betty and Jan Asprooth. Predeceased by her parents; sister, Helen Flink; and niece, Judith Montalbano. Memorial service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road, with visitation from 10:30 a.m. to service time. Pastor Bill Dahlberg of Salem Lutheran Church will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Rockford Rescue Mission or NIHA.
