Margaret Kested Obituary

MARGARET J. KESTED, 89 MOUNT MORRIS - Margaret J. Kested, 89, died Wednesday, May 4, 2011, in Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home, Mount Morris. Born Sept. 22, 1921, in Mount Morris, the daughter of Jesse Q. and Lellia Mae (Tice) Allen. She graduated from Mount Morris High School, Class of 1939. Margaret married Edward W. Hollinger in Mount Morris; he died Aug. 15, 1977. She then married Everett R. Kested on Dec. 26, 1983, in Mount Morris. She was an advertising assistant with Watt Publishing Co., Mount Morris, retiring in 1980. Margaret was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Mount Morris, Sunset Golf Club, Women of the Moose, Mount Morris Senior Center, and the VFW Post 8739 Auxiliary, Oregon. For more than 20 years she was the pitcher for the Mount Morris Ladies Softball Team. For most of her life, Margaret enjoyed bowling, and she bowled several perfect 300 games. Survived by husband, Everett Kested of Mount Morris; son, Gary (Betsy) Hollinger of Oregon; daughters, Janet (Gary) Messer of Dixon and Nancy (Gary) Junker of Findlay, Ohio; stepdaughter, Judy Miller of Wausau, Wis.; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents; first husband, Edward Wayne Hollinger; brothers, Robert and Roy Allen; and sisters, Ethel Yeakel and Myrtle Allen. Service at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 7, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Mount Morris, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time; the Rev. Steven Erickson will officiate. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Dixon. Memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church and Good Sam Fund Pinecrest Manor. Arrangements by Finch Funeral Home.
