I worked with Dick at RFD. He was always a pleasure to work with with a kind word for all and a positive outlook. I especially enjoyed my staff time with him and Hugh Doyle. Those 2 together were a hoot. I am sorry to hear of his passing. He was a source of encourage for me personally and just a really good man. I am sorry for your loss. Grandpa always loved hearing stories of my animals. Going to his house to share these with him was a regular thing for many years. His soul is now peaceful. He can spend time in Heaven with all my animals I told him stories about.

Bev and Greg...Both Ann and I were sorry to hear of Dick's passing. Since we will not be there on Friday, we offer our condolences. Dick was a dear friend to me in our days at Rockford Tower, and I shall never forget what a great person he was. He was helpful to me in many ways.

Uncle Dick and I were always jokeing around and when he was in the Air Force he would stop by Morris Kennedy grade school now and then where I was in seventh grade and tell them at the office that he was home on leave and would like to see me. They didnt know I saw him all the time because he was living near by.. The princple would come up and get me out of class so I could spend the day with my uncle. We would ride around in the Air Force truck in southern Wisconsin looking for ground observer volenteers at that time. Fun days I will never forget.

I will miss you uncle Dick even though I have not seen you for several years. I always thought that one day I would see you again but now I will have to wait awhile longer.

Beverly, So sorry to hear of Uncle Dick's passing. Those Johnson men are so special. They are tough on the outside and have hearts of chocolate on the inside (they melt). I am forever grateful to you and Uncle Dick for being so good to Duane's Dad. Our love to you. Paula & Duane
