Rosie Fosse Obituary
ROCKFORD - Rosie Fosse, 96, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2011, after a long life. She was born Jan. 19, 1915, in Rockford, to Albin and Selma Northsea. She married August Fosse on June 8, 1935, in Rockford. She was a member of Good Templers, Lyran Ladies Auxiliary, Eastern Star and YMCA Senior Ladies. She loved dancing, traveling, sports, was an avid White Sox and Packers fan and excelled at crafting. Survivors include son, Warren (Cordelia); daughters, Janice (Preston) Tish and Linda (Myron) Fry; nine grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; husband, August; sisters, Alvie Fosse and Pearl Nelson; brother, George Northsea; and two granddaughters. A special thank-you to granddaughter Tianna Clyde for helping her enough to allow her the dignity of her last years as she wished.Service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, in Christenson Funeral Home and Crematory, 925 Third Ave. with visitation one hour beforehand. Interment in Arlington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Transitions Hospice, 12040 Raymond Court, Huntley, IL 60142.For more information, visit

Hi Jan,
Sorry to hear about Rose. My thoughts are with you, Tianna, and the rest of the family at this time. I remember the good Swedish food she would always cook at your house.

Linda - It has been a few years since we've seen each other, but I will always cherish the many memories I have with you, your mom, Karen and Alvie when the kids were little. All the Saturday afternoon card games, Halloween parties, etc. The vacation week at your mom's in Michigan. What a great life your mom had! My thoughts and prayers are with you and all your family as you mourn the loss of your mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, beloved aunt and the end of an extrodinary generation.
