Willie Real Obituary

WILLIE MAE REAL, 86 ROCKFORD - Willie Mae Real, 86, of Rockford departed this earthly life Saturday, May 28, 2011, at Rockford Memorial Hospital, after a long illness. Born Sept. 11, 1924, in Frenchman Bayou, Ark., the daughter of Jack and Addie Barner. Willie Mae lived in Rockford since 1997, coming from Steel, Mo. She married Aaron Cooper Sr.; of this union seven children were born. After his passing she married Alfonzy Real in October 1952; of this union three children were born, and he preceded her in death. Willie Mae was a member of Mount Sinai Baptist Church, serving as a mother. She attended schools in Arkansas. Willie Mae leaves to cherish many loving memories, sons, Deacon, Aaron (Nettie) Cooper and Melvin (Geraldine) Willett; daughters, Earlene Meadows, Irene Wooden, Christine (the Rev. Dan) Smith and Halline Jackson; 28 grandchildren; 79 great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. Predeceased also by her parents; son, James Cooper; daughters, Joann Real, Lorine and Corine Cooper; and four sisters. Service at noon Friday, June 3, at Mount Sinai Baptist Church, 1901 W. State St., with visitation from 10 a.m. to time of service; Pastor Gerald Lumpkins will officiate. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. Arrangements by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home, 2429 W. State St.
