Arnold Lashua Obituary

SPRINGFIELD - Arnold J. "Arnie" Lashua, 92, died Thursday, June 22, 2017, at Springfield Health & Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by family.
He was born Dec. 16, 1924, in Springfield, the son of Julian and Bertha (Wilson) Lashua.
He graduated from Springfield High School, attended a variety of law enforcement courses at Champlain College, Babson Institute, Norwich University, had training in FBI Police Management School and completed studies in criminal investigation, crowd control and drug investigation.
Mr. Lashua married Priscilla Drake Aug. 4, 1946.
He served the town of Springfield for many years as a police officer, including as acting chief. After retirement, he served as a lister for many years.
Survivors include his wife; two children, Gary Lashua and Linda Converse; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by four siblings, Bernard and Edward Lashua, Anastacia Streeter and Gwendolyn Pelletier.
The graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 30, in Pine Grove Cemetery in North Springfield. The Rev. Gerry Piper will officiate. A gathering will follow at Springfield Elks Club on Park Street.
Memorial contributions may be made to Elks Silver Towers Foundation, in care of Carol Sylvia, Secretary P.O. Box 5, Perkinsville, VT 05151.
Arrangements are by Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield.
