William C. Jetton Jr.

1923 - 2017

Born in Lamar, Arkansas on February 13, 1923 to William C. Jetton Sr. and Serena Davis. In Sacramento, sadly left us on January 16, 2017. Attended grade and jr. high in Clarksville then graduated high school in Lamar. Started boxing in 1939 at the Clarksville Boys Club in the featherweight class. In 1941 joined the Civilian Conservation Corps and inducted into the Air Force from 1943-46, then went on to serve as a proud veteran. Married to Barbara Joyce Sims in Fresno on June 14, 1947. Moved to Stockton then to Sacramento (River Park) in 1955. Retired in 1983 from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. as Division Manager after 34 years. Preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (2009). Survived by daughters, Cheryl (Gordon) Nicolson, Cindy (Raymond) Remmick, grandchildren Nicole (Chris) Thomas, Kyle Nicolson, Ryan, Brandon, and Justin Remmick, great-grandchildren Colton, Riley, Ashton Thomas, and Kynzie Nicolson. Enjoyed watching his "red birds" the St. Louis Cardinals, going to the Winston Nascar races, attending the annual Red Bluff RoundUp and his weekly Thursday evenings of karaoke at Vince's in West Sacramento. His favorite sayings, "Y'all Have a Good One" and "play Stardust one more time." Memorial services will be held on January 24, 2:00 p.m. at Fremont Presbyterian Church, 5770 Carlson Dr., Sac., 95819.
