My Dearest Brother,

My heart hurts. Everytime I think of you I think of all the fun times we shared. This is so hard for me to think let alone talk of you as in the past. Its been weeks since you left us. And i say to myself this is not the way its we are to go out like this. I had to find out just by luck of a old school friends daughter that is a correction al officer at High Desert Prison. And stupid me lost your number. I was in a state of panic, numb, lose thought or words for the last month. Till that beautiful woman of yours called me early Christmas morning. Out of the blue you spoke to sue or my mother found you and sent a message to her to call me. That is all i wanted, that one bit of knowing that i can stop worring, I cried like a baby. And sue just made feel so good that i know she is well. It's just like her to say that your up there with that cocked head back and evil grin and just laughing as you do. I want you to know i think of you everyday. You where 1 of 4 people i trusted and would lay my life down for. The history we had. On the job back at SQ or off the job... remember the acadamyat Gault. We where the 2 class to come out from there. So much fun.. I have the photo of us i took of our class and a shower shot of you fool.Remember East Blk was a huge mess. You and i where the only ones to able walk the tier that day. You helped solved the destubance with a major leader to stop the violance. The inmates where not to touch us. Remember my black out after you got me so drunk that nite and the Kimchi you forced me to eat. The CDC Olympics in Fairfield you competed Martial Arts. Dude your knee's My 40th B-day. I can go on, but what saddens me is that saw you 3 yrs ago in Reno by just by luck at a book store and we, us all went out that nite and had dinner. I diden't keep in touch. I lost my friend. I diden't get to say goodbye. I miss our hangouts when you came to Petaluma. I feel i let you down. I wiss i can turn back time my brother. So much i missed. You have, You are and will always be my brother in arms. You be very muched missed as my other fallen brothers.... B.A Austin... Westbrook.... K.Hall...and now you C.L Adams.. "Los" "Luis". I remember the first time we meet. I said your the only black man i know with a spanish name and born in Korea... We laughed that one to the ground..I'll see you on the other side mi amigo vios condidos. Lets kick the tires and light the fires in a blaze of glory. LOVE u always my friend...

Peace Out....

Dear Sue, we just heard of your loss. PHELPS workd w/ Carlos & you both at CMF South in the 90's and played on a baseball league with some of the guys at CDC. The first time I met Carlos was at a game - he always projected himself as great man who took care of his business. Both our boys remember him. May you & your family draw strength from each other during this difficult time...god bless you.

Sue, Robbie and Coti, words can't even express the sorrow that we feel over the loss of Carlos. He was a mentor, friend and of course, the smack talker that we all loved. Why the lord decided he wanted Carlos with him now may not make sense, but for some reason he decided that he wanted him. We will always remember the good times we spent together and will cherish them. Something that we heard the other day brought comfort: We are not humans living a spiritual life; we are spiritual beings living a human life. His spirit will always live on in memories and love. We love you all, and please know that in your time of sorrow, family and friends will always be there.

Sue, my deepest sympathies go out to you and the kids. Carlos, though it has been many years since I have seen you all, will always stick out to me as such a big person in my teenage years. He was the type of man that left an indelible impression on anyone he met, good, bad or indifferent. To me, when I met Carlos, as a mid teen while I was hanging out with Andy, when young men are so impressionable, Carlos seemed to be the epitome of cool. He was tough, yet he was the consummate family man all at the same time. Never afraid to speak his mind or stand his ground, things that all men strive to be. Like I said, he left an indelible impression on me that I still carry today. I am so sorry for your loss.

November 9, 2009

Sue,Robbie and Coti, I am very sorry for your loss, Carlos was a wonderful person and I will always remember his smile, especially when I used to called him Carlitos. My prayers are with you. Remember that he is with Jesus now and he will sleep until the return of Jesus, then he will again wake-up to be with us again!

May the peace of God be with you,

Love,
Miriam Diaz

Thank you for allowing Carlos to be a big part of our lives. Our lives will never be the same. Your friends forever. You know that when I found out of his passing There was a song playing on the radio by the Eagles and the Lyrics go like this "Theres a hole in the world tonight, Theres a cloud of fear and sorrow, Theres a hole in the world tonight, Don't let there be a hole in the world tomorrow" There is definitely a hole in our hearts. We love you

I will truly, truly miss Carlos and the way we went back and forth about whose football team was better. Carlos always acknowledged everyone he knew, if he was busy in conversation with another, he always had a nod or a smile for me and anyone else he knew. A true gentleman and friend, he will be missed dearly. My prayers to his family of whom he was so proud and treasured with all of his heart.
