Douglas WINCHESTER Obituary

WINCHESTER, Douglas
'Doug'
Passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 19, 2012, age 65. As a husband, father and grandfather he will be greatly missed by family & friends. He is survived by his wife Pamela Skinner; children Dawn Martin (Dan), Marissa Winchester (Brian Ruggles), Ryan Winchester (Jessie); and grandchildren Devan and Samantha Martin, and baby Wyatt Winchester. Doug was born in Kansas City, MO as the only child of Homer H. Winchester, of Kearney, NE, and Frances Alice 'Sue' McGill, of Hoisington, KS. He lived in Tampa, FL as a young child and Piedmont, CA during his high school years. While studying pre- med at Oakland City College, and Sacramento State, the love for cars pulled him into another direction. He bought, sold, collected, raced and transported them. While living in the Sacramento area for over 40 years, he owned his own lot 'Motorama,' managed at a Niello dealership, and owned Wholesale Motors - car transport & sales. Doug was a great supporter of Pamela's art gallery. He loved fine foods & wine and was a serious wine collector. Memorial Celebration of Doug's Life will be Sat., Oct. 27, 2012, 2-4pm, at the (former) Milk Gallery Building, 212 13th St., Sacramento, CA 95814. In lieu of flowers, because of his love for animals, please make a donation to The DSAH Angel fund, a tax-deductible non-profit charity for abandoned animals. Details at: www.dsah1617.com under Angel Fund.
