Dear Melody, Paige and Megan,
We want to convey our deepest condolences to your family on the passing of Phil. We know that you are left with more questions than answers at this time. We went through this experience a few years ago when our first daughter Maya passed away. The only thing we can say for sure is that the pain does heal with time and life does renew itself through other joyful events. We hope and pray that the future will bring you the same healing spirit and help you remember Phil in a happier way. May God give you the strength to come through this very difficult time in your lives.

I pray for those of you who are most impacted by Phil's passing. May the Lord keep you strong during this time of sadness. I was Phil's classmate at Cal. I remember him to be a hardworking student who takes his studies very seriously and takes pride in a job well done. We played badminton together once; he was such a good player. I regret that we didnt keep in touch after Cal. I guess we always assumed that we will some day catch up again. I bid you farewell, my friend. I miss you already.

To Phil's Family,
My heart goes out to you at this time.
I had the pleasure of working with Phil at LLNL on the Artificial Retina project. Phil was a great guy to work with, hardworking, very smart.
He contributed major accomplishments to the Artificial Retina project which is helping blind people regain sight. Take pride in the fact that what he has accomplished with his life in such a short time will be helping a lot of people in the dark see light .
I'm a firm believer that from bad experiences something good is born from them. Look for the good you may not see it now, but you will.
I will miss Phil and his jokes.
God Bless and comfort you all at this sad time
