Ramon Soden Obituary
SODEN, Ramon H. The Pearly Gates opened wide on April 1, 2015 to accommodate Ramon H. Soden into heaven. Ramon was the loving husband of wife Sharon, father of five children including Janna Blankenship, Cheran Pearson, Charles Soden, Carol Allen, and Bryn Taylor. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. Ramon was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Patricia Soden, who passed away in 2003. He is also survived by three sisters, Barbara Spink, Donna Lyon, and Carol Henry. Sister Louise Oaks passed away. Memorial Services celebrating Ramon's life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 11 at Sunrise Community Church, 8321 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, CA 95628. The Patriarch of the Soden Family lived and enjoyed the righteous life that God desired and guided his family down that same path. And Ramon did it the right way during his 87 years - he didn't drink -- he didn't smoke -- and he didn't have any vices. He was all about family, sports, helping others, serving the Lord, and living life to the fullest. We should all take a lesson from this great man. Ramon was as happy playing in Senior Softball Leagues as hanging out with family members and grandchildren, singing in the choir, RV'ing, or assisting others in need at Sunrise Community Church. Ramon was born in Castile, NY and joined the Marine Air Corp at the age of 19. He earned his pilot's license and specialized in training fellow Marines on four aircraft fire-fighting teams. Upon exiting the military three-years later, he attended John Brown University in Arkansas where he pursued and attained a Mechanical Engineering degree. At 26, Ramon earned his Commercial Pilots license. He also put his degree to great use in a long and rewarding career working for aviation and technology giants Boeing, Sylvania, and Lear-Siegler. He also worked as a design engineer on launch consoles for rockets at the Kennedy Space Center. For the last 28 years before he officially retired, he worked as a design engineer at the Sacramento US Army Depot. Ramon was an exceptional God-fearing man that will be missed by all!
