Dennis Capello Obituary

Capello, Dennis February 9, 1957 - May 9, 2012 Passed away unexpectedly at age 55 as a result of a heart attack. A resident of Sacramento, graduate of La Sierra HS, Class of 1975 where he was prom king and an astounding middle distance runner. Established Capello Roofing in 1977. A generous, strong, and passionate man that will be missed by all who knew him. Preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Pam Capello. Survived by his daughter, Tiffany Capello; brothers Lennie, Frank and Larry; nephews Marco and Andy; nieces Katie and Kristi. Memorial service will be at Saint Joseph's Chapel at St. Marys Cemetery 9am Saturday May 26 2012 located at 6700 21st Ave Sacramento CA 95820 Remembrances in his name can be made to the Del Campo High School Track/Field of Dreams 4925 Dewey Dr, Fair Oaks CA 95628 or a charity of your choice.

Sadly, I just heard about Dennis this evening. Happily, I was able to hang out and laugh a lot with Dennis several times since being back in Sac the past few years. He was the same ol fun-filled friend with a heart of gold and working hard at his business. I send lots of love and prayers to his family and friends. He will never be forgotten and will always hold a special place in many hearts.

Dennis was a dear friend to both of us at La Sierra. Although we only saw each other a few times since, his devilish, infectious smile and laugh will always be how we will remember him. He was an amazing athlete and a true class act as a human. We are so sad to lose one of our Longhorn's, and sad we missed his service and the gathering of friends to honor him at the Palms. We send our prayers to the family, and know that he will always be an angel on your shoulders.

Very, very sorry to hear of Dennis passing. I was behind him in high school both in grade and running ability. But, I always looked-up to Dennis for his amazing running ability and the fact that he treated a slower underclassman well.

I also was in track with Dennis in elementary school.His father was the coach.Even though I havent seen you in years. I will always remember all those meets and spin the bottle games we played.Its funny I was just trying to find some old class mates from Orangevale School.I wish we could of talked of old times. I am very disappointed to hear about what happened to Dennis. I have wanted to get caught up with Dennis for a long time and didn't get enough time with him at the last reunion that I attendend. Dennis and I ran on the track and cross country teams at La Sierra HS and I so vividly remember Dennis' humor, his strong work ethic, his amazing talent, and his friendship and encouragement. I'll never forget the grueling, but fulfilling four years of workouts we did under coach Bob Jameison. I'm just not ready for Dennis to be gone. If I am feeling this way after all of these years, my heart goes out to his family and friends whose ache must be much greater than mine. Dennis, you have never met my children, but all three children have known about you and so does my wife. It has always been and always will be a delight whenever I bring up the person of Dennis Capello. My thoughts especially go out to Jim Freeman, Mike Blazer, and Rich Spalding who I especially know were always close buds of Dennis. I can't make the memorial service, but please know that I wish I was with you all to celebrate Dennis' life.
