Steve and I were high school friends in Lenoir /city and then at UT. We reconnected at a reunion but lost contact again. I'll always remember him as a valued friend early in my life. My sincerest condolences to Donna.

As a young airman from Tennessee, Steve took it upon himself to help me get used to the Air Force and living in the Sacramento area. Steve and Donna introduced me to my wife. Steve was my best man at our wedding. Janet and I recently celebrated our 31st anniversary. We will miss you.

Hi Donna, Heidi and I are deeply, deeply saddened to hear about Steve. I can only take comfort in the thought that he is with the Lord right now - even though we will all miss him dearly.

Annette and I add our thoughts and prayers to those of Steve's many friends and colleagues. Steve was one my initial instructors when I became an SEO. After a break in service, he was there to give me refresher training, and then flight instructor training. There are many fond memories of TDY's, but those to Kwajalein and Midway stand out. I hope to “see him down the road”, where I know he'll once again be my instructor.

I was introduced to Steve at the Lincoln Rifle Club. Over time, we found ourselves meeting there on Friday's for some shooting together. I sold Steve some firearms, and bought some from him as well. I was always impressed with his ability to reason thru a shooting problem of some sort, and have enough tools in his kit to take care of the problem. He was obviously very fond of Donna, his Son, a retired Marine, and his career in the Air Force, as he spoke about all of them all the time. It was a pleasure knowing Steve for the past few years, my times at the shooting range without him will not be the same. Donna's words about her relationship with Steve in his obituary were heart warming. I'm grateful to have been a part of their life for the past few years.

Alyson & I introduced Steve & Donna way back when Alyson & Donna worked in Dr. Billie Wilson's dental practice together. Steve & I were SEOs back then, and shared many trips together, to Japan, Alaska, Midway, and more. Farewell old friend, we'll miss you!!

Donna, you and Steve were able to have a wonderful life together and created very special memories, he truly was "The Light of your Life" as you were his. He was a great guy and will be missed. Thankfully he is at peace with his Lord and without pain and suffering. Bless you and your family. Sincerely, Jo Ann D.

Steve and I go back when he first became a Special Equipment Operator in the sixties. Many trips, flights, and memorable experiences followed our Air Force careers. We partied hard, worked and flew long hours, and saw the world. Steve dedicated many hours supporting the AFTAC Alumni Association (WCC)where Steve was both an elected member of Board of Directors and "chief" photographer for social events. I will miss him as an individual, helpful colleague on the alumni team, and just an all round great individual. Donna, he is keeping his new wings straight and level.
