James FROLOFF Obituary
FROLOFF, James A. (Jim)
Born January 17, 1946 in Redding, CA; passed on October 31, 2011 after a brief illness. Jim graduated from La Sierra High School, Carmichael, CA in 1964. He worked in the construction industry and as a bartender in the Sacramento area before moving to Grants Pass, Oregon. There he married his long time sweetheart, Katheryne Thomas and for the last 11 years he drove a school bus for First Student. A passionate 49er football fan, Jim will be remembered for his extensive collection of 49er memorabilia, as well as his collection of miniature school buses. He is survived by his loving wife Kathy, daughter Erika Dunbar-Friend, sons James W. Froloff and Joshua D. Froloff. He also leaves behind a stepdaughter, Alicia Garza, two sisters Alberta (Bobbie) O'Donnell, Amelia Mitchell (husband Jim C.); brothers, Joseph Noble, Daniel Froloff (wife Carol); John Gower (wife Sherrie), plus numerous grandchildren, a great grandchild, nieces and nephews, all whom will miss him greatly, but will cherish wonderful memories of his great sense of humor and loving heart. He was preceded in death by his mother Hazel and father Albert Froloff; brother, Elmer G. (Moe) Froloff and sisters Rose Woodward and Ruby Huitt, who were waiting to take him on his journey to the Great Spirit. Private services will be held at a future date to be determined by the family. I met Jim in 1972 and immediately liked him. I'm sorry for his passing. I'm thankful that I got to meet him.

I just found out about Jim's passing.
He was my best friend. We talked on the phone often, but I hadn't seen him for many years. Until we meet again, I miss him. To Kathy, Bobbie, Amelia, Laura, Karen and the entire Froloff family, I'm sorry Jim left you, but it's a temporary condition.

Our sincere condolences to Jim's Family and friends for their loss. We didn't know our cousin Jim personally and I'm sure it would have been an honor if we did. My dad who had past away in 1952 when I was 5 years old was the only link to all my relatives in California. Not until 1990 contact was made with them did I realize how extensive the Froloff' Family had become. Jim will be dearly missed by those who loved him and the many lives he touched during his life.
