MILLER, Debra Anne
Debra was born on November 21, 1952 at Travis Air Force Base and passed away unexpectedly on April 2, 2011. Debra graduated from Vacaville High School, and lived the last 40 years in the Sacramento area. One of Debra's greatest passions was music. Her first piano lessons began at age 13, and she later received a B.A. in Music from Sacramento State. She then went on to build a piano studio averaging 50-60 students in the Gold River area during the past 20 years. In addition to her teaching, she was an accompanist at several dance studios and performed with local theater groups including the Davis Music Theatre, American River College, Old Eagle Theatre, and the Sacramento Children's Performing Choir. She also played in various chamber ensembles, including a piano/cello duet with her husband. In addition to her music, Debra worked for Bel Air Markets and then a financial services firm for over 20 years.

Debra loved to read books, garden, and especially to spend time with family. Everyone who knew Debra will remember her enthusiasm, her desire to share with others, her generous spirit, and her infectious smile. She leaves behind her husband, Chris Allen, her siblings Phyllis and Dale Rundquist, Ric and Karen Miller, and Sada Anand Miller, five nieces, three nephews, and many relatives, close friends, and much loved students. She was preceded in death by her parents Bruce and Mildred Miller.

There will be a private interment at Fair Oaks Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Debra's life to be held at the Fair Oaks Community Clubhouse on Saturday, May 14, 2011 from 2:00-4:30pm. Memorial donations may be made to a scholarship fund that will be established in Debra's memory in the coming weeks.
