Jay LIPPMAN Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 16, 2012.

LIPPMAN, Jay Lawrence
Born March 25, 1943, Jay passed away on February 12, 2012 at home surrounded by loving family. After a long struggle with cancer, Jay proved himself a fighter until the very end. Jay lived a life of quiet self-reflection and service. Never one to seek out praise, he always had a kind thought and word for those in need. His home was always filled with notes thanking him for his help and concern. He was actively involved in leading a self-help group for years. Jay loved Car Talk, long walks, and spending time with his beloved granddaughter, Lucina. His son, David, encourages those who knew Jay to include him in their thoughts and prayers. A funeral service will be held Friday, February 17, 2012 at 2:00pm at East Lawn Memorial Park Chapel, 43rd & Folsom Blvd., Sacramento, CA. Private interment will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.

Jay was always so kind and encouraging to me when I was first in Recovery International (RI) 5 years ago. He would always thank me for helping out, which encouraged me to to get more involved and I am so so grateful to him for that. He will always be loved and remembered by the RI Community in which he was a strong leader and mentor. Thank you Jay for being such a supportive person to me, the Team, and to the people in your Sunday night meeting. My deepest sympathies to his family, he was loved very much.
