I've always known Robert M. Davis as Grandad--my wonderful grandfather. I was privileged to come of age listening to stories around the table of his childhood, of raising his kids while moving from base to base, his travel adventures with Mimi and about all the lovely folks that he met along the way. I will remember his kindness, his warm sense of humor, that delightful impishness of his, along with a thousand other things that made him the extraordinary man that he was. When he and Mimi spoke at my wedding telling us the secrets to a love that lasts a lifetime, it was one of my favorite moments of my life. I was so very lucky to have had him as my grandfather, he will be with me always. I'll love you forever, my little Grandad!!!

I remember Col Davis as a fine officer as Chief of Personnel & Administration in the 1960s at 1155th Technical Operations Squadron, McClellan AFB CA. I'm submitting his obituary for inclusion in the AFTAC Alumni newsletter. Dale Klug, SMSgt, USAF (Ret)

Some people are born into a family and others get to choose. When Debbie, introduced me to your incredible family in 1968, with a cute brother that was going to college at Cal Poly, the wheels were set in motion, Dad was in Vietnam then and she would always would say, "Wait till you meet my Dad". And then I did! I love your family as my very own and I am so blessed to have you all in my life. Dad was one of the most caring, kind and honorable men that I have ever known. I miss his 'crazy' smile and sense of humor that always made me laugh. His love and devotion to you has always been an inspiration to us. I will remember all of the wonderful memories we have shared together forever. Sending all my love to you, Sherry

Dear Bob (jr): Most sorry to read about your loss. We would say your Dad had a long loving life. We did not know he lived so close by. Hope all is fine with your family. Maybe some day our paths will cross again.
