Dora CONARD Obituary

CONARD, Dora 'Dee'
Marie Del Dotto
1915 - 2014
Dora, 98, was born in Roseville, CA, and was a lifelong resident there and passed away February 10, 2014. She attended local schools and graduated with honors from Roseville High School in 1932.

After attending the Western School of Business, Dee worked for a collection agency for a short period and then as a cashier for J.C. Penny. From there she was employed by the State Department of Social Welfare for 23 years as Executive Secretary to six successful Social Welfare Directors, who were appointees of the then Governor. Dora found this work interesting and exciting and formed lifelong friendships. In retirement she retained this interest and spent time motivating seniors to write their legislators on legislation beneficial to them.

Dee and her husband Donald Deane Conard, now deceased, were married for 46 years. In their retirement they became world travelers. They enjoyed the culture and scenery in all the countries they visited. Both enjoyed dancing, golfing and collecting purple bottles found in old dumps. Dora's hobbies were reading, gardening, and her computer.

Dora was predeceased by her mother and father, Ida and Giovanni Del Dotto; brother, John Del Dotto; and sister-in-law Clara Del Dotto. She is survived by step-son Dennis Conard; step-granddaughters Alaine Callen (Mike), Jennifer Biddle (Dan), and Denise Heyer (Steve); niece Joan Dillon (Mike); nephew Stanley Del Dotto (Judy).

A Memorial Mass will be held at St Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 615 Vine Ave., Roseville, CA, on Monday, February 17, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice. Please share love and memories on Dee's guestbook at www.cochranewagemann.com

Thinking of you, Denny, at this time. Doug and Tona

February 13, 2014

Every inch a lady, Dora is one of the most amazing women I have had the pleasure of getting to know. She always made me feel welcome and special. She kept up to date with what was going on in her community, and remained active in her church. Her example is one I will take through life with me. One of my favorite memories of her was watching her open some computer how-to books on her 84th birthday! She was a woman for all times, always engaged in the here and now.
Sending my love to you, Dee...
