William A. Munsill Jr.

A loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grand-father, and friend who was blessed with a long and well-lived life. Born January 2, 1926, in Kansas City, MO, and passed from this life into eternal rest in the early morning hours of December 6, 2015, in Orangevale, CA, William Alexander Munsill, Jr., was lovingly known as Bill, Billy Boy, Dad, Grandpa, and even Uncle Billy Goat. He touched so many lives with his stories, engaging debates, unending support, frequent recitations of "The Raven," and singing of "The Big Rock Candy Mountain." A proud Navy veteran of WWII, he served in the South Pacific aboard the Baltimore-class heavy cruiser USS Canberra. He retired after a long career with Bank of America, followed by a shorter career on the golf course. Finally at peace in Heaven with the love of his life, Georgia Munsill, he will be greatly missed by his sons, John Munsill (Greta) and Greg Munsill (Debbie); grandchildren Laurel Muff (Stephen), Owen M. Munsill (Teresa), Caleb Munsill (Sadi), Ethan Munsill, Gabriel Munsill, Jonathan Munsill, Dominic Munsill, Seth Munsill, Raphael Munsill, and Jouelle Kimura; great-grandchildren Owen W. Munsill, Rita Rose Munsill, Evelyn Muff, Lucie Muff, and Genevieve Munsill. He is also survived by his sister, Margaret Melusky, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife, Georgia; his parents, William A. Munsill, Sr., and Julia Munsill; his sisters, Anne Woods and Mary Culver; and his brother, Glenn Munsill. Special thanks to long-term caregiver, Lori James, and to his many friends at Eskaton Fountainwood. A Rosary will be held Thursday, December 17, 2015, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Stephen the First Martyr Catholic Church, 5461 44th Street, Sacramento, CA 95820 with a Requiem Mass following at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, 7101 Verner Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95841.
