Jack FERCHAU Obituary

FERCHAU, Mr. Jack E. Sr., Saginaw, Michigan. Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Saturday, December 31, 2011 on his 82nd birthday. The son of the late Chester and Margaret (Girard) Ferchau, Jack was born December 31, 1929 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Rose Chowaniec, his loving wife of 61 years, on September 16, 1950. She survives him. He was employed at Wickes Corporation for 29 years until his retirement in 1986. Jack was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church where he served as an usher, the Polish Falcons, Knights of Columbus Council #4232 and Eagles Aerie #497. Jack was a member of the James Township Fire Department where he served as its first Fire Chief. He enjoyed golfing and woodworking and being with family. Surviving besides his wife Rose are two sons and one daughter, Jack Ferchau Jr. and his wife Kelly, Freeland; Jill Muir and her husband Robert, Pawpaw, Michigan; Jay Ferchau and his wife Joyce, Warren, Texas; six grandchildren, Stephanie, Tony, Rachal (David) Morway, Sarah (Matthew) Paulik, Autumn and Larissa; two great-grandchildren, Emma Morway and Gabriella Ferchau; two sisters and three brothers, Betty Egerer, Rodney and Elaine Ferchau, Dale and Dorothy Ferchau, Elaine and Bill Miller, Keith and Pat Ferchau; many nieces and nephews. Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. William Taylor and Deacon Roger Pasionek will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at Holy Family Catholic Church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. There will be a Vigil Service 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the James Township Fire Department or the charity of their choice. www.snowfuneralhome.net

Jack, I just heard of your Father's death. I'm very sorry for your loss. Your Dad was my first boss after college. I enjoyed working with him as he was always helpful and had a great sense of humor. He was patient with me as well as he taught me the ropes.
