Marian Holt Obituary

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Marian Holt, 88, of Ayden, N.C., formerly of Salamanca, died Tuesday morning (Oct. 18, 2011), at the Universal Health System Hospice Center in Greenville, N.C.
Born on June 16, 1923, in Salamanca, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna (McFarland) Edmund. She was married in Harrisburg, Pa. to Wiley Holt, who predeceased her on Nov. 17, 2006.
Mrs. Holt was a member of the former St. Patrick's Church in Salamanca. She loved to read and travel.
Surviving are: two daughters, Ann Strang of Bolivar and Marsha (Edward) Glinsky of Ayden, N.C.; nine grandchildren, Angela (Brian) Hicks of Bolivar, Shannon (Tim) Oakley of Ayden, N.C., Edward (Virginia) Glinsky of Hayes, Va., David Strang of Salamanca, John (Angela) Glinsky of Jacksonville, N.C., James Glinsky of Gloucester, Va., Scott Strang of Wilmington, N.C., Brian (Rebecca) Strang of Salamanca and Matthew Strang of Logan, Utah; 21 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, David B. Holt, on June 7, 1996, and a great-grandson, Timothy Oakley, on Aug. 7, 2006.
Friends called at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca, N.Y. on Friday (Oct. 21, 2011), from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., at which time funeral services were held with Rev. Patrick Melfi, Pastor of Our Lady of Peace Parish, officiating.
Burial was in Wildwood Cemetery, Salamanca.
