Michael Wright Obituary

Michael Scott Wright

LEXINGTON - Mr. Michael Scott Wright, 47, died peacefully in his sleep at home early Friday morning, Aug. 20, 2010, after several years of declining health.

Mike was born Oct. 3, 1962, in Logan, Utah, and was the eldest son of Dr. Henry and Janet Wright. After graduating from high school, he served four years in the United States Air Force.

Even though Mike was in severe pain for years, he successfully graduated from Davidson County Community College with Honors with a diploma in Motorcycle Mechanics in 2008. He then worked as an assistant in the motorcycle program the following year at the college. His dream was to be able to support his family as a motorcycle mechanic.

His father and a brother, Paul Wright, preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Christa Wright of the home; his son, Christopher Wright of Salisbury; his mother, Janet Wright of Lubbock, Texas; a brother, Trent Wright of Lubbock, Texas; a sister, Sandy Anderson of Houston, Texas; grandmother, Clara W. Terry of Modesto, Calif.; special friends, Jacob, June and Andy Crotts of Midway; his girlfriend, Tabitha Godfrey of Lexington; a friend and caregiver, Jeff Ayers of Mocksville.

Mike was a very special person. His children were the source of his pride. While he suffered constantly, along with his faith and trust in God, he was optimistic that brighter days were just around the corner. He will be missed.

Service: A memorial service to celebrate Mike's life will be held Saturday, Sept. 4, at 6 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church in Mocksville. A memorial service is planned for a later date in Lubbock, Texas, where his remains will be interred.

Arrangements are in the care of Roberts Funeral Service. Online expressions can be sent to the Wright family at www.robertsfuneral.com.
