Roger Dale Yokley

ADVANCE - Mr. Roger Dale Yokley, 53, of Rainbow Road, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem.

He was born April 27, 1957, in Forsyth County to Virginia Weavil Yokley and the late Charlie Lindsay Yokley. Mr. Yokley attended Dulin United Methodist Church, was the owner of Yokley Lawn Care and worked at R.J. Reynolds.

He was a member of the Farmington Masonic Lodge and had been with the Smith Grove Fire Dept. for 15 years.

Survivors include his wife, Ginger Robertson Yokley of the home; his mother, of Winston-Salem, who had lived with him the last two years until his illness; a daughter, Elizabeth Yokley (Chris) Noles of Salisbury; a son, Eric Thompson (Tiffany) Yokley of Mocksville; mother-in-law Iva Dorse of Mocksville; a sister, Debbie (James) Cox of Fountain Inn, S.C.; three brothers, Maurice (Janice) Yokley and Michael (Robin) Yokley, all of Winston-Salem, and Mahlon (Sharron) Yokley of Richlands; two grandchildren, Austin and Logan; two stepgrandchildren, Madison Noles and Emily Watts; a sweet little angel, Keighley Cain; four nieces; four nephews; five great-nieces; and five great-nephews.

Service: A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 21, at Eaton Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Marilyn Weiler and Rev. Ray O'Ferrell officiating. Interment will follow in Dulin United Methodist Cemetery with Masonic graveside rites conducted by Farmington Masonic Lodge AF&AM 265.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 20, at the funeral home.

Memorials: The family requests that memorials be considered for Dulin United Methodist Church, c/o Jerry Hendrix, 2112 Milling Road, Mocksville, NC 27028; or Hospice & Palliative CareCenter of Davie, 377 Hospital St., Suite 103, Mocksville, NC 27028.

The family wishes to extend special appreciation to Don and Patricia Howard, Eddie and Norma Hepler, Terry and Pam Burton and the acts of kindness from many other friends. They would also like to thank Dr. Zekan, Winston-Salem Healthcare staff, 8th Floor Palliative Care at Forsyth Medical Center and Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home staff.

Ginger and family
We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Although life won't be the same you will have many great memories to rely on to keep Roger alive in your hearts. We will be praying for the comfort for you and the family that can only come from God.

I worked with Roger there at the Tobaacoville Plant and you could count on him to help out in any way ...he was a great guy to be around I'm so sorry about his passing!

Yokley Family and friends,
I was so sorry to hear of your loss. May God be with each of you, and ease the pain of the loss. I worked with Roger from 1981 till 1989 at RJR and remember him as a great person, and an all round great guy! You know when it has been that long since you have seen someone, and still remember him as being so nice,that is saying something! God Bless each of you!
